New LG Plasma TV Models With 30,000:1 Contrast Ratio
Filed under: News
LG presented their plasma TV with 30,000:1 contrast ratio at FPD in Japan. The new model outperforms any other plasma TV when it comes to contrast. LG has doubled the 15,000:1 contrast ratio that other very good plasma TVs have, developing the G platform. The G plaftorm plasma TVs are actively producing blacks compared to other plasma TVs who do this passively by relying on a black-tinted clear panel. LG states that they achieved this by improving the phosphors and dielectrics in the plasma TV screen.
The new plasma TVs will also run more silent than before, LG claims, making them suitable for home theater rooms where even the slightest sounds can be heard during quiet scenes.
Most models have not been presented, though LG said the 32", 42", two 50" models (one HD-Ready and one Full-HD) and 60" new plasma TVs will be using a variant of this technology. The new models are expected to be launched at the end of this year.
